I must admit I love reading this. 6 years ago when I first started this page I had hit rock bottom. At first I couldn’t tell but my days were far too dark to not notice. I tried everything in my power to uplift my own spirits but eventually I gave up and allowed life to take me instead of trying to control the whole situation, not that I was any good at it anyways. In that time I’ve learned a lot about myself, I lost friends, family, my own will to write. But if you know me then you know dam well “like dust ill rise”. I’m grateful for this page and all of you that consistently have reached out to me thru out the years, its greatly appreciated and I felt the need to let you all know. So thank you for your continued support and love. Writing will forever be my sanity.

This is my writing, my therapy, my peace. I have always had random moments where I had to stop whatever I was doing and just start writing. I created the page so I could express myself freely without anyone judging me. I recently started college and im starting to realize that there is a huge pressure to pick my career path now, im lost. All ive ever wanted to do was write but it seems as if everyone around me thinks im beyond crazy to think I can make a future out of this. I dont know what my future holds for me but for the past 9 years writing has been faithful to me. I guess this is my way of testing waters.

That was 6 years ago and saying a lot has changed would be an understatement.

  1. I love this intro. You say a lot in very few words and it’s raw and real. I wish you well and can only say that the world, careers, everything is changing so fast at the moment that I don’t believe in there being any security in anything other than listening to that voice within and daring to live your dreams. Thanks for liking my recent post:-)

  2. Keep writing and persist! I believe that most successful writers persisted despite the obstacles and rejections they came across. From what I’ve read of your blog so far, I’d say that you have a good reason to write in helping others, so don’t give up because that is a beautiful reason to write.

  3. So You Want To Be A Writer by Charles Bukowski

If it doesn’t come bursting out of you
    in spite of everything,
    don’t do it.
unless it comes unasked out of your
heart and your mind and your mouth
    and your gut,
    don’t do it.
if you have to sit for hours
    staring at your computer screen
    or hunched over your
    searching for words,
    don’t do it.
if you’re doing it for money or
    don’t do it.
if you’re doing it because you want
    women in your bed,
    don’t do it.
if you have to sit there and
    rewrite it again and again,
    don’t do it.
if it’s hard work just thinking about doing it,
    don’t do it.
if you’re trying to write like somebody
    forget about it.
if you have to wait for it to roar out of
    then wait patiently.
if it never does roar out of you,
    do something else.

if you first have to read it to your wife
or your girlfriend or your boyfriend
or your parents or to anybody at all,
    you’re not ready.

don’t be like so many writers,
don’t be like so many thousands of
    people who call themselves writers,
don’t be dull and boring and
pretentious, don’t be consumed with self-
the libraries of the world have
    yawned themselves to
    over your kind.
    don’t add to that.
    don’t do it.
    unless it comes out of
    your soul like a rocket,
    unless being still would
    drive you to madness or
    suicide or murder,
    don’t do it.
unless the sun inside you is
    burning your gut,
    don’t do it.

    when it is truly time,
and if you have been chosen,
    it will do it by
itself and it will keep on doing it
until you die or it dies in you.

    there is no other way.

    and there never was.

  4. Better to really try, giving it your best shot, and fail, than to live a life of regret because you didn’t have the courage to start. Life is way to short to spend it doing something you have no passion for.

  5. As long as you are writing first and foremost because it wants to come bursting out of you. After that, everything else takes care of itself.

  6. What others think is important (to them). You have to do what makes you happy, whether it be writing or something new that may come to you. Don’t limit yourself. You can do more than one thing. Be happy.
P.S. Thanks for the visit to my site.

  7. if you see it, if you feel it, then you should do it. Live inside of writing, join anything and everything involved with it and you’ll see the next step. It’s good that you see that you have to keep walking to reach your dreams.

  8. it is ironic that ‘holiday’ really means ‘holy day’ and yet there is nothing whatever in modern holidays of the masses that is holy at all, men do not understand that ‘holy’ means ‘separate’ and all the pain of mankind is because we are in denial of the spirit of Love we keep separate by unLovingness of our ways … the holy days were memorials to the way of mankind back to Love, to being ONE , to being whole with our conscience, heart of Love, sprit of truth, our mind… men are fragmented inside by our world we made and accept with its fake holidays in place of what would remind us of what we are… so consider if one means it when one says ‘Good will to all men’ as one overeats and gives presents to those who do not need them as yet another 50,000 little children starve in misery to DEATH on xmas day… is that really goodwill to all men or does one just say that … does one really believe one can fool God , or else why is one celebrating xmas anyway [Jesus never celebrated birthdays in his whole life and was born at lambing time, the only time flocks and shepherds are out in the fields all night – at this time of year flocks are kept inside in the Holy Land, lest they perish in the cold]

  9. …consider that life ends but that whatever it was that resulted in life is endless, had no beginning , so is not the same as life … except that we perceive it as communicating with us… our strange awareness of shame and guilt that we do not do what we know is best for ourselves and others …no other creature lives in active denial of its inner self-condemnation as men do … but what then is condemning what we became and yet keeping this ‘Love’, this perfect way of life, alive in a few and continually preventing mankind from destroying itself in the conflict of ironies we call ‘civilisations’ [built on lies even about our current false mass conceptions manipulated by professional liars in politics and mass religion?
…and It isn’t a matter of thought either , but of the basis of all thought, inspiration … but we know inspiration comes from endless being, not from life… it has always been there … even our conscience always there in man [defining ‘man’ ?]
… we have built-in desire and parameters of perfect life , yet live in bizarre conflict with that destroying ourselves daily in many tens of thousands in denial of what we know we are… we all have Love as a ‘god’ built into our life and even created mass religions to lie to us that we follow that God as we continue not to obey Love …continual mock forgiveness by fakes as we continue to do what is not Love, even though we know what is kind, just, fair, sharing, caring, peace, etc…
… and one relevance here, purpose of this communication, is that poetry is perhaps the ONLY medium men allow outside their dreams [dreams mostly denied] which expresses this inner Truth of what we are… inspiration shows us all of time if and when we let it , and it was said long ago , just the same Truth about what is happening and will happen …

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

we all know religion is divided , NOT united by this one source of all Truth and knowledge INDIVIDUALLY to anyone who seriously wants to know … men confuse religion with God because that is how very many hide from themselves… others find many other ways… even science hides from the written facts [for instance found in autobiographies of ‘great’ men] that inspiration comes TO them, not from them… the word actually gives it away too

  10. It’s hard to make a living as a writer, and I can recall an article I read where a writer was interviewed. He said every professional writer he knew had a day job.

But, none of that should change your dreams. If you’re passionate about writing, you have to give it a try. Even if it doesn’t give you an income large enough to live on, keep in mind anything you publish for money is going to give you a small income for the rest of your life (or, as long as there is interest in that particular piece).

I could tell you to try because it’s the thing you love in life, but I won’t. I mean, that’s part of it, and it will be the main thing that keeps you going as a writer, but it’s not the entire picture. If you’re going to write, you need to take up other interests and possibilities.

Even writers get sick of writing, sometimes. And sometimes, doing other things allows for creativity to build up after you’ve exhausted all of your inspiration. And even more than that: jobs, and the social, physical, and emotion interactions that come with them, can give you an amazing amount of physical, sensory, and emotional details and ideas to turn your writing into great (and profitable!) writing.

But I’m not a professional writer, and I’m in college too, so I don’t know all of that for sure.

Either way, I wish you all the best with your writing. If you love it, never give up on it.

  11. You seem to have received a wealth of advice here. I just want to add to the masses with stating : Don’t give up. Never stop writing.

  12. Wow. Your work is amazing! I’ve been thinking about going back to school for writing purposes, and like you, I’d love to make a career out of it. Your blog is a big inspiration for me. Don’t stop writing! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much it means a lot to me that I could possibly inspire someone else in their lives. And if you feel like that’s something you truly want, go for it! it will be worth it if it makes you happy:)

  13. May you have great success in writing, “success” defined as loving what you do no matter what anyone else may think of your creation. It is WONDROUSLY hard work, as Earnest Hemingway was intimating when he said, “There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”
